About

My professional career, which spans more than 25 years of experience working in government and politics, includes almost 20 years working as a staffer in the U.S. Senate. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral and Social Sciences from the University of Maryland University College, and a Master’s Degree in Developmental Psychology from Johns Hopkins University. In 2008, after leaving my position in the Senate, I became a certified personal life coach and developed my own life coaching practice, Capital LifeWorks, LLC. I am a member in good standing of the International Coach Federation.

Since becoming a life coach, I have successfully helped clients, both on and off Capitol Hill, achieve fulfillment in all aspects of life, from career and relationships to health and happiness. I chose to specialize in working with Hill staffers because my own extensive Hill experience enables me to relate to the particular pressures, stresses, and challenges faced by Hill staffers. It provides me with a unique lens through which I can recognize the limitations staffers’ jobs often impose on their lives. My understanding of and sensitivity to the Hill environment has proven invaluable to my Hill clients as I work with them on making appropriate and necessary changes to their lives.

Personally, I take an holistic approach to life. I believe a healthy mind and body are integral for attaining a satisfying, productive lifestyle, which is what managing your life is about – and I like to “practice what I preach.” Along with my natural ability to support and motivate others, my partiality towards a holistic lifestyle is another personal quality that underlies my coaching abilities and, I believe, enhances my coaching techniques.
