Holisitic Approach to Life
Many people believe that taking a holistic approach to life simply means acknowledging the link between mental and physical health. However, a fully holistic approach to life actually goes beyond the mind/body linkage and considers everything about our being — our physical bodies, our intellect, our emotions, and our energies – as totally interconnected. It considers the overall state of our well-being as a continual interaction among the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of our individual lives, as well as how we interact with and respond to other people and our environment.
Being mindful of our interconnectedness and our interaction with others and with our environment is fundamental for managing our lives. It enables us to understand that our desire to make any one change in our lives will require us to make several changes in our lives. Likewise, any change that occurs in one area of our lives will provoke changes in other areas.
